Have you heard? There is a paint and thermo shortage. I don't know all the technical terms and such but it seems as if there is a raw material needed and there is not enough of it.

Transafe has been trying to stay on top of the situation. We currently have paint and thermo available.

Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas!

Don't you just love this time of year? We all need to take time and enjoy the season. Think of it through a childs eyes. Every day my little boy wakes up looking for the magic and mess that his little elf has created. (little background on the elf - did you know that if you send Santa a note requesting a magic elf that somehow a magical elf appears? Each night you have to feed your elf -ours prefers Wheat thins and water- Each night the elf wakes up to eat and create mischief.) Some days Warner the elf has toilet papered my son's room, he has been found reading with all the books pulled from the bookshelf, he has gotten in the hamper and thrown all the smelly clothes around the room, he has hidden in my son's stocking, he's been found riding a reindeer in the living room. He is quite the mischevious magical guy. What fun it is each morning to see the surprise on my boys face. Warner the elf must have been tired last night because he did not wake up and make any messes - my boy was quite upset and oops I was feeling pretty bad....

Q. What did Adam say on the day before Christmas?

A. It's Christmas, Eve.

Q. Why does Santa Claus like to work in the garden?

A. Because he like to hoe, hoe, hoe!

This is the time of year where we should all remember what we are thankful for. We are thankful at Transafe for all of our customers. They are all very dear to us and we feel so blessed that you have chosen to do business with us. Thank you - thank you - thank you. Please remember that not just now but always we feel fortunate to be able to do business with you.

We are also thankful for a day off and good eating. There is nothing like pushing back from the table after your belly is full and then laying on the couch and watching some TV.

My Eyes are burning!

Over the past three months it has rained and rained and rained. This week alone we got 3 inches. But today I must say the sky is BEAUTIFUL! I could hardly see as I was driving to work this morning. What a welcome sight to see such a bright blue. What I also found amazing is that the pavement lines on the road were glistening. The sun was reflecting off the glass beads. I think it is so cool that glass beads brighten the road not only when its dark but also during the day. Oh my! Its fall - Witches and pumpkins and ghost... Orange orange everywhere (not Tennessee Vols orange - remember I'm a bulldawg fan!) but Fall and Halloween orange.

Baby Can't Stripe in the Rain...

Poor babies - we feel the same way! Baby can't work if its raining.

It's happening again... RAIN, RAIN and more RAIN! How are we supposed to sell paint and pavement marking materials if it continues to rain? I guess we need to market to the desert areas. We do offer reflective rain suits if you need one.

One of our local lakes, Lake Lanier, is up to full pool now. A year ago it was at a record low due to the lack of rain!!!

OK once it stops raining where are you gonna go? Come to Transafe and get some traffic paint, parking lot signs, glass beads, raised pavement markers etc etc. We have a new Graco Thermo machine. Let us know if you would like information on it.

Lights - Camera and Action...

Well minus the camera... but keep the action because that is why you would typically need the Sirocco construction and emergency lights.
Transafe has recently acquired the AirStar product line. It is awesome! We have had positive feedback on this product.

I wear my sunglasses at night...

The rain has finally stopped! Can you give me a hallelujah! Fortunately for all of us at Transafe none of us suffered flooding like so many others did around Georgia.

Transafe is looking at stocking reflective rainwear so in the future tow truck operators, emergency management, city county workers and DOT can stay dry and still be safe. We will have it uploaded to our website in the next day or so.

Back to the weather - there is not a whole lot of parking lot striping going on right now. You could dodge the rain and install a few sign posts and handicap signs. Maybe a few parking blocks to spruce up a parking lot. Our parking blocks are made of recycled rubber. They are good looking if I must say so myself.

DB What - DBE

Transafe is a certified "DBE" What is that you ask? The official definition follows:

"DBEs are for-profit small business concerns where socially and economically disadvantaged individuals own at least a 51% interest and also control management and daily business operations.
African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, Asian-Pacific and Subcontinent Asian Americans, and women are presumed to be socially and economically disadvantaged. Other individuals can also qualify as socially and economically disadvantaged on a case-by-case basis"

Ok if you are like most of us that is a little over our head. In layman's terms it means if you are a woman owned business - then you can apply for a DBE. Being that Betty Sue is our fearless leader like I mentioned in one of my previous posts it means we are a DBE. Please note that there was LOTS of paperwork that had to be filled out to receive the DBE status. LOTS of paperwork - did I mention LOTS of paperwork. We are certified in most of the southern states in additon ot Kentucky and Indiana. Contractors when they bid their work to the state DOT's they have to meet a certain percentage DBE goal. That is where we come in. Contractors can use their purchases from us to count towards their goal!

Whew.... that's kind of boring - but hopefully you get the gist and if you happen to need a DBE you know were to find us. We can help you with your goal. Not Field goal but DBE Goal!

Transafe has a full warehouse of traffic paint - white, yellow, red, black and blue. We sell it by the 5 gallon pail or by the pallet. We have striping equipment too for getting that traffic paint down on the ground; whether it be a parking lot, road, school, athletic field etc etc. Our paint is Federal spec. TTP-1952-D (Traffic & Airport Marking). Meets DOT spec. 971-19

the first picture is what not to do! If you stripe like that you will need to buy some black paint from us to cover that mess or you will need to purchase a grinder to grind up those messed up lines. You might also want to consider a pair of glasses!

My goodness to get into the "computer age" it seems as if you must email, blog, post etc. Whatever happened to the good ole telephone and a freindly voice. Here at Transafe we are working at being tech savy but we do like talking to our customers... We recently revamped our website and it seems to not be doing well on the search engines - hence... a blog to promote it and US! Please view our site http://www.transafeproducts.com/ if you are an existing customer you just need to enter your account number and a temporary password - you will have to call us to get the temp password - but don't fret we do not bite! and if you are a new customer please register and we will get right back with you with a login number. Its that easy!

We are working at making our site user friendly so let us know your thoughts... Be nice to us b/c we put a lot of sweat and tears into it but we do know there is always room for improvement:)

Check back to our blog occasionaly - we are hoping to add video demonstrations - pictures of installations - product reviews and maybe even a questionniare or two requesting info from you. We might even occasionaly do a "blog" only coupon special - so look us up.

For those of you not aware of what we do: We are located in Georgia and our goal is to be a stripers one stop shop. We have traffic paint, cones, striping euqipment, thermoplastic equipment, signs and posts etc etc etc. We have it all - and if we don't have it we will try to find it.
